Gabriel James Holloway Obituary, Richmond, MO

Gabriel James Holloway, 10, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. He was born November 13, 2015, in North Kansas City, to Timothy James “TJ” Holloway and Jennifer Marie (Sykes) Holloway.

He is survived by his parents, TJ and Jennifer Holloway of Richmond; his sister, Julia Holloway of Richmond; uncles Jeff Sykes and Chris Sykes; aunts Rachel (Daniel) Lacore and Crystal Holloway; his paternal grandfather, Jewel Holloway; maternal grandparents Cindy Sykes and Scott (Michelle) Sykes; maternal great-grandmother Nancy Harms; great-uncle Phil Harms; and cousins Olivia Harms, Lisa Lacore, Alexa Lacore, and Cheyenne Lacore. He was preceded in death by his brother, Orion Holloway; his sister, Angelina Holloway; and his paternal grandmother, Margaret Holloway.

Gabriel was known for his bright personality and gentle spirit. He enjoyed cuddling with family and had a deep fascination with dinosaurs, dragons, animals, and fishing. He dreamed of one day traveling to China and Hawaii and hoped to become both a missionary and an animal rescuer. His favorite colors were blue, green, and red.

Living with autism and ADD, Gabriel approached life at his own comfortable pace. When something excited him, he would laugh in a way his family fondly described as sounding like a dolphin. He loved spending time playing games on his tablet, watching movies, reading books, and playing with his toys. Through organ donation, Gabriel saved three lives and continues to inspire others through his story. He was an extraordinary boy who will be deeply missed. His family finds comfort in knowing he is now home with God and Jesus.

The family extends heartfelt appreciation to First Baptist Church of Richmond, Thurman Funeral Home of Richmond, RnR Designs in Richmond, and to the many donors who have supported them during this difficult time.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Richmond First Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street, P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
