Benjamin (Ben) Bryant Winnabow, NC Obituary: Cherish Resident Has Died

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Benjamin (Ben) Bryant Huffman, IV, age 54, of Winnabow, NC, who passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. Ben’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born on January 6, 1972, in Wilmington, NC, Ben was the son of the late Benjamin B. Huffman, Jr. and Mary (Honey) Margaret Robbins Huffman. Ben was one of six children and was preceded in death by two of his brothers, James Robert Huffman and E.G. Mintz.

Ben’s greatest pride and joy were his family. He leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa Huffman, and their children: Ashton Huffman, B.J. Huffman, and six daughters, Brooke Huffman Martin, Shayla Huffman, Hazel Huffman, Layla Huffman, Olivia Buffkin, and a daughter-in-love, Laquinta Ray. Ben is also survived by his brother, Jimmy Mintz, two sisters, Shelly Roberts and Shelia McKenzie, and two grandchildren, who he adored with all his heart.

Ben was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He found joy in spending time with his family and creating lasting memories. He had a nurturing spirit and always made time for his loved ones, whether near or far. His laughter and presence were a comfort to those around him, and his legacy of love and devotion will be carried on by his children and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the home of his sister, Shelly Roberts, located at 8250 Joe Brown Road, Bladenboro, NC 28320. All who knew Ben are welcome to join the family in honoring his memory.
