Connie Dorotea Baca Las Vegas Obituary: Beloved Resident Has Died

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Connie Dorotea Baca, age 76, of Las Vegas, New Mexico, who peacefully passed away on March 6, 2026. Connie leaves behind a profound legacy of love, kindness, and dedication as a devoted partner, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

Born on November 9, 1949, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Connie was the daughter of Alejandro and Lucy Baca. She grew up in the warm embrace of her family, surrounded by her parents and siblings. Connie’s love for her family was evident throughout her life, and she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and an open door for all who sought her care.

Connie will be fondly remembered for her compassion, infectious laughter, unwavering kindness, and her dedication to those she loved. She was a nurturing and loving soul who touched the lives of countless people through her generosity and selflessness. Whether it was through her acts of kindness, her sense of humor, or her tireless devotion to her family, Connie was a beacon of love and light to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Alejandro and Lucy Baca, her brother Roberto Baca, her sister Anna Ramos, her stepson Lawrence Candelaria Jr., and her grandson Vidal Vigil.

Connie is survived by her loving partner, Lawrence Candelaria, her four daughters, Lucy Gonzales (Henry Gonzales), Geraldine Amadid (Brahim Amadid), Karen Herrera (Cameron Baucom), and Edwina Garcia (Billy Garcia). She is also survived by her two stepsons, Lawrence Candelaria Jr. and Pedro Candelaria, who were proud to call her family. Additionally, she leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren and four treasured great-grandchildren who brought her boundless joy. Connie is further survived by her two sisters, Christina Vargas and Frances Roth, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Her family will always remember her for her strength, her generous heart, and the way she selflessly put the people she loved above all else. Connie’s love and dedication created a lasting legacy that will continue through the many lives she touched.

A rosary will be held on March 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Roger’s Mortuary in Las Vegas, NM. A reception will follow on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Abe Montoya Recreation Center, where family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate her life.

May Connie’s spirit live on in the love and memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
